Shift: Closing (1830-2330)
Dear Diary,
My second day so far at work is still tiring because it’s
sale period, which means clothes on sale, mostly up to 70% off on clothes from
t-shirts and dresses to jeans and skirts. That day was when I’m assigned to
stand at the sale tables and the other fixtures and fittings at the outlet (also
known as the Middle Zone). You know, the tables that have stacks of clothes and
roundtables with hanging clothes on promo prices. That was the time when I had
to tidy up the front sale table that had men T-shirts at $10 each. It was like
a junk pile in a junkyard. On that table, the clothes were even mixed up with
clothes which were regular priced and should be at a different shelf like the
ladies. I know, right? How can a ladies skirt ends up at the men’s t shirt sale
table? But at least I done it within the closing shift but it’s still a mess at
the roundtables where hangers are sticking out and the clothes were on the
floor and there was still a pile of clothes at the fitting room so, like
always, my colleagues and I had to ‘rack up’ the outlet by putting back the
clothes neatly from the fitting room and make the outlet as tidy as possible
because my staff said that there will be visitors coming over to the outlet on
the next day. As I ‘rack up’ the outlet together with my staff, we all get
exhausted and tired. But at least it’s still a bit of exercise. After work, my
feet were so sore that I can’t feel a thing on my feet. After I reached home, I
can finally relax while eating some salted pepper chicken fingers and at the
same watching Mata Mata 2 which I recorded on my house’s DVD recorder. What I
learnt so far at work is how to rack up the fixtures and fittings at the outlet
like aligning the hanging clothes by colour with the Cotton On logo on the
hanger facing towards me. Also, I had learnt how to identify the clothes by its
barcode. I hope to learn more at my next shift this Thursday, closing shift
again!
